This page announces something that does not exist yet. Better to say so in the first line than at the end: online cybersecurity training courses, aimed at SMEs in French-speaking Switzerland, are being prepared at Säfeli. They are not available today.
You will therefore find here neither a release date, nor a price, nor a detailed programme. Not out of commercial mystery, but because these elements have not been decided. A page that promises less and keeps its word seems more useful to us than a page full of superlatives.
The availability date, the price, the duration, the number of modules and the exact format all remain open. We would rather announce nothing than announce something we would later have to correct. This page will be updated once there is something concrete to announce. In the meantime, everything published on this site remains freely accessible.
The material already exists, right before your eyes
Training is not built from nothing. This one will draw on what is published here: the threats that genuinely target Swiss companies, the measures that make a difference, the legal obligations, and the reflexes to have when an incident occurs.
In other words, the base material is already online, free of charge, with no account to create. You can start today without waiting for anything from us. The Training your teams pillar brings together the essentials of what relates to awareness-raising.
It is also a way of answering a legitimate question: why pay later for content that is already available? The answer lies in what the format adds, not in some secret information reserved for clients.
What does training offer that an article cannot?
Three concrete differences.
An ordered path rather than random reading. A website is browsed in jumps. You land on an article through a search, read half of it, and come back three weeks later to a different topic. This works fine for answering a specific question. It works poorly for building an overall understanding, where the order of concepts matters.
Exercises. Reading that you should be wary of an urgent transfer request does not produce the same effect as being faced with a credible message and having to decide what to do with it. It is the moment when you get it wrong in a consequence-free exercise that the reflex takes hold.
A format that can be rolled out to a whole team. This is probably the most useful point for a manager. Sending ten article links to ten employees rarely produces a measurable effect. Having a shared course that everyone follows lets a manager know where their team stands without having to re-explain every notion themselves.
What will training not do?
We need to be as clear about the limits as about the promises, and this point is at the heart of the matter.
Training passes on knowledge and reflexes to people. It does not look at your servers. It does not check that your backups actually restore, who holds administrator rights, or what your IT provider has left open on your network. No educational content, however well made, can do that work, because it is aimed at everyone while your situation belongs only to you.
The two approaches act on different areas, and they complement each other.
| Training | Assessment of your situation | |
|---|---|---|
| Acts on | People | Infrastructure and organisation |
| Answers | ”How to recognise and react?" | "What is actually exposed at our company?” |
| Content | The same for every company | Specific to your business and your tools |
| Limit | Does not see your configurations | Does not change your teams’ reflexes |
A perfectly trained team on a poorly configured infrastructure remains vulnerable. A flawless infrastructure does not withstand an employee approving a fraudulent transfer because the message seemed to come from management. This is exactly the mechanism described in our article on CEO fraud: no training alone, and no technical setting alone, is enough.
In the meantime, what is already available and free
There is no reason to wait. Here, in order, is what we recommend to an SME that wants to move forward now.
1. Take the cyber check-up to place your company in a few minutes.
2. Go through the 10 essential measures, ranked by the ratio between effort and protection.
3. Read why raise your employees' awareness before launching anything internally.
4. Use the materials from the National S-U-P-E-R campaign, in French, designed for a non-technical audience.
The S-U-P-E-R campaign, run by the Confederation and its partners, deserves a special mention. Its materials are free, reusable internally, and cover the basic actions without jargon. For a first team awareness effort, it is a serious, immediately available resource.
If your need is immediate
Some companies cannot wait. An incident has just occurred, a client is demanding guarantees, an audit is approaching, or management has simply decided the topic can no longer be postponed.
In that case, write to us. Support already exists, even though the online training courses are not ready: Säfeli works with SMEs in French-speaking Switzerland on team awareness as well as on reviewing their technical and organisational situation. The contact link is at the bottom of this page.
If you would simply like to be informed when the training courses become available, write to us as well. We have deliberately not put any sign-up form on this page: no sending service is in place today, and a field that leads nowhere would be one more small deception on a topic that already has plenty.
